Knowledge & guides

For thoughtful decisions and a gentle start to life together. These guides draw on our everyday experience with British Shorthair cats in Gaspoltshofen, Upper Austria.

Buying a British Shorthair in Austria: what should you ask?

A kitten is a future family member. Take time to decide and to discuss the home you would like to offer.

Would a British Shorthair suit your family?

None of our cats is exactly like another. Meeting our British Shorthairs means meeting four individual personalities, and that matters when choosing a companion.

Questions about our kittens

Do you have kittens available now?

We have no kittens available at present. You are welcome to contact us about future litters.

Which pairing is planned?

Berry and Nina are planned. Mating has taken place, but pregnancy has not yet been confirmed, so there is no confirmed birth date.

When can a kitten leave?

Our kittens leave no earlier than twelve weeks. We agree the individual departure date personally.

What accompanies a kitten?

Two vaccinations, repeated deworming, a microchip, veterinary examination, vaccination record and a substantial starter pack. Every kitten has a pedigree, handed over or posted after proof of neutering.

What is in the starter pack?

Familiar wet and dry food for around two weeks, a litter tray and scoop, food bowl, toys and a blanket carrying familiar scents.

Can I visit?

Request a one-hour visit between 14:00 and 18:00 daily, or between 08:00 and 20:00 on Saturdays. Ramona confirms each visit personally; the form does not reserve a slot automatically.

How does a reservation work?

A reservation with a deposit is possible by personal agreement. Kittens are placed exclusively as companions with a protective agreement and neutering agreement. Please tell us a little about the home you would offer.

Are enquiries from outside Austria welcome?

Yes, including enquiries from Europe and overseas. We discuss whether and how travel is possible individually; this does not promise any particular transport arrangement.
